Private Home Tutors in DHA Phase 1 Islamabad for Cambridge, Federal Board & All Grades

Coloured highlighting feels productive because the page looks “worked.” Active recall feels harder because the brain must produce the idea without looking. That difficulty is the point.

A fair comparison on one page

1. Read a short section once.
2. Highlight key lines as usual.
3. Close the book and write three facts or steps from memory.
4. Check. Whatever you could not write was only recognised, not owned.

Most students discover that highlighting covered more than they could retrieve. Next time, spend the highlighter minutes on the closed-book step instead.

Upgrade

After recall, write one question that would test the missing point. That question becomes tomorrow’s warm-up.

Families arranging home tuition in DHA Phase 1 Islamabad can ask tutors to end sessions with three closed-book prompts instead of another highlighted summary.
