Home Tuition in F-11 Islamabad – Online & Home Tutors for O Level, A Level, Matric & All Subjects

In many maths and science papers, a wrong final number can still earn marks if the method is visible and correct. A blank space or a single unexplained answer earns nothing when the arithmetic slips.

What examiners can reward

• Correct formula or relationship stated
• Correct substitution of values
• Sensible intermediate results
• Clear reasoning in “explain” questions

Example

Find 17% of 250.

Working: 10% of 250 = 25; 5% = 12.5; 2% = 5; total = 25 + 12.5 + 5 = 42.5.

If the student writes only “42” after a slip, the marker may see little method. If the steps above appear, partial credit is more likely even if the last addition is wrong.

How to write for method marks

1. Start with the relationship or plan in words or symbols.
2. Substitute numbers on a new line.
3. Keep units with quantities in science.
4. Box or underline the final answer — but never skip the path to it.

Practise by solving questions on one page and marking only method clarity on another day. Students working with home tutors in F-11 Islamabad can ask the tutor to award “method-only” scores during practice so clear working becomes automatic.
